In the past when I downloaded pictures from my digital camera they would all
go into one folder. Now they are downloading OK but instead of just one
folder every single picturd appears separately. I know I can create a folder
and drag them one by one into it, but previously this was not the case. Have
I changed a setting or ticked or unticked something?

Do you mean every image is in a sepparate folder?
What software are you using to upload the images?

No - every image shows as a separate photograph - no folder.
If I want them to go into a folder I have to create one after uploading and
then drag the pictures individually into it.
I put my Compact Flash Card into the Card Reader and it asks me if I want to
"Copy pictures to a folder on my computer using Microsoft Scanner and Camera
Wizard" which is what I do.
Previously it has created a folder and before uploading the pictures, asks
me to name the folder. Then it uploaded the pictures into this folder but
suddently, for no apparent reason, it uploads them all as separate
photographs without first creating a folder or asking if I want one.
I am in Windows XP Pro
Does any of this help you solve my problem?
Thanks

Did you select "Work directly from the Camera"? (In the first screen) If so,
uncheck it and you should get the previous options.
You seldom have to select items individually in Windows.
1. Click on he first item in a list, hold the shift key and click on the
last-all items are selected.
2. Hold the Control key and you can click on random items.
3. Left-click and drag a marquee around a group of items to select them all.

When I insert the Flash Card a screen appears asking:-
"What do you want Windows to do
Print the pictures ...........
View a slideshow ...........
Copy pictures to a folder ........
Open folder to view files ..........
Take no action .......... "

In the past all I had to do was highlight "Copy pictures to a folder"
when I do this now all that happens is dozens of separate photos and no
folder!
Nothing about "Work directly from the Camera"

OK. You're using a Flash card reader. In the printer?
Can you connect the camera directly to the computer? Usually with a USB cable.
That should also bring up the Wizard.
In any case, you don't have a really big problem-just select all the
pictures, select copy and create a folder to paste them into.
What's the make and model of the camera and the Flash Reader?
