I've been advised to disable my download manager to allow me to download some
software I have purchased on-line. How do I do this? Thanks.

If you never installed a download manager (software to manage / resume
downloads that get interrupted) then you have nothing to do.

Are we supposed to know what download manager you installed?

Does your download manager have a Help file, user manual or website
technical support?

The help desk of the software supplier from whom I bought the new software I
am trying to download. No I haven't installed a download manager myself, but
found one on there and deleted it - it still won't download.

Yes - it's Motorola's supplier of Motorola Phone Tools - not a big download,
but just can't get it past the first few kB.

That doesn't matter; it's often necessary to do that because some places
auto-provide their own download manager and another one can confuse
things.

I don't think it's worth answering further however because the OP
refused within the nxt couple responses to ID where the "advice" came
from etc, leading me to suspect it's not an Adobe or other legit
operation. Once my paranoia triggers I usually just quit reading and
move on, which is what I'm doing here.
