Can anyone recommend a Download Manager that includes a feature to
initiate a download at a particular time of day.

I have been using Download express and have been very happy with it,
but am about to connect to broadband with and ISP who offers peak and
off peak download times.

I'd like to be able to set up a download to start at off peak time
which is after midnight (long after I'm in bed).

Thanks

What difference does this make? If you are on broadband then you are always
connected and your downloads will come in fast anytime. Perhaps you could
help me understand the need for this feature.

Because the ISP offers a 3 gig download during peak time (8.00am to
midnoght) and another 3 gig Off peak (midnight to 8.00am).

Once you exceed your 3 gig during either period, your download speed
is reduced to 72K (as opposed to 512K).

Consequently if you can use the off peak period for unattended
downloads, then you save the peak period for things where you need to
be present such as gaming, on line TV etc.

With the polan that I have opted for, then it is a marginal issue as
the worst I would suffer is a reduced download speed, and even that is
much better than dial up, but there are plans where you pay for extra
downloads and a download manager would be very useful there.

I had thought Freshdownload was full of spyware, but I note their site
claims no spyware. Will give it a go.

Thanks

I have Flasget 1.40 and can't find any scheduling option.

Have I missed something??

You should be able to right click on a paused download and choose schedule.
In tools>options there's a tab where you can tick which days you want to do
scheduled downloads and a box to enter the time to start downloading.

Yep, see that now. Many thanks.
