When I download items, my computer automatically places them on the
desktop. I would prefer to decide where they go. Since it does it
automatically, I cannot see where to specify the location.

How do I set that?

Thanks

It doesn't do it automatically. When you click to download an item it will then pop up a window that gives you a choice to begin or cancel the download. At the top of that window is a line that specifies where you save the download to. If you don't want to save it to a location you simply click the "browse" button to the right of the line at the top and click you way to where you want it to download. Have fun. {:~)

To get the download dialog box, enable the "confirm open after download" option for that filetype:

Open Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Type tab
Scroll down to locate the file type. Highlight the filetype click the "Advanced" button.
Then check the option "confirm open after download".

Also, set the "NoSelectDownloadDir" to "0"
