A while ago I accidentally unchecked the box that says
to "always ask before opening this type of file". Then
immediately afterward I (once again on accident) hit the
save button. Realizing what I had done, I clicked cancel.
Oops. Now I click and sometimes nothing happens, other
times it opens the file (any file with a .zip extension).
Yes, I know I can right-click choose "save target as" but
on some sites, that doesn't always work, and I would much
rather be able to select save from the little menu that
pops up. If I could have a fast reply that'd be great.
THANKS. Please e-mail answer to (e-mail address removed)

You set this for each file type, e.g. for .zip
Explorer-View-Folder Options-File Types
Find the .zip association (may be WinZip File)
Edit, (or click Advanced on ME or XP) and check the "Confirm open
after download" box

The path to Folder Options may vary according to your operating
system. It may be:
Explorer-View-Folder Options
Explorer-Tools-Folder Options
Start-Settings-Folder Options
Start-Settings-Control Panel-Folder options.
