What The!!!

I seem to have a problem now with Internet explorer within winXP prof SP1.
For some reason down, whilst browsing a web page that has a link to download
something, eg a file, it does not now download the file, either sitting in
limbo, or going on to a new window with a little square on it. Any advice
would be appreciated.

.See if your download option is enabled in internet

options:security, internet,custom level you have three
choices
1.enable
2.prompt
3.disable
