I need to reinstall IE6 on a computer running Windows ME, but I have to
download the software using a computer running Win98se.
The MicroSoft download site doesn't seem to have an option to select which
operating system I want the software for. Also, it seems to be an "online
installation" as there is not an option to save the download to disk. Does
it assume I am updating the Win98 machine?
Anyone know how I can download for a different operating system and save it
to disk?

Bob,

You can store Internet Explorer 6.0 locally for subsequent installations:

Option 1:
Order the IE SP1 CD from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default.asp

Option 2:

Visual aid for saving IE setup locally: (select the OS check boxes)

Check this MSKB link on "Download-Only Setup of Internet Explorer on Windows
2000 and Windows XP"
