download IE

followed microsoft's directions for problem with outlook and need to download
internet explorer again. Using CD is impossible as microsoft updates for IE
have made the version newer than that on CD and it will not run IE5setup.exe.
Also, niether updates (which I am supposed to go to) or downloads has an
installation. I have SP2 on my computer and if I let microsoft download IE
for me (with a link) it just tells me I already have it. Pain in the ass.
Directing me to the IE main page is of no help. If anyone can give me
constructive directions or help I would appreciate it.

The iesetup.exe download used to afford the option of downloading all of
the files so you could save them locally and then run the install
sometime later. It doesn't do that anymore?

If you have WinXP SP2 either reinstall that or else uninstall SP2 before
using the method in
