If you are running Antivirus software, try turning it off and see if you can
get them to install, the same for any firewall software.

Go to Start and type msconfig in the run box and press enter. Go to The
services tab, be sure both Cryptograhic Services and Remote Procedure call
have checks next to them, if not, check them, click apply and ok.

Other possible causes. If you have NetZip installed on your system, remove
it.

Delete or rename the catroot2 folder. NOTE: That's catroot2, DO NOT DELETE
or RENAME the CATROOT folder. This folder is a subfolder of the System32
subfolder of Windows.

Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools, select internet Options, on the General
tab, click delete cookies, click Delete Files and accept the option to
delete all offline content, click clear history. Delete everything in the
temp subfolder of Windows. Reboot and try again.

If that fails, try the following links for additional help and information:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_u.htm and look under the "Updates"
section for a possible solution.
