I am trying to download evaluation software (EXE) from Microsoft and the
download starts but disappears about half way through. I know this has to
do with the Attachment Execution Service which blocks these files. I know
that I need to click "Unblock" but I can't do that until it's downloaded.
How do I download this kind of file with Vista blocking EXE's? I have tried
turning on File Extensions and changing it to .exx but it still doesn't
work... anyone?

Try it in the faster moving newsgroup... hope this is how I'm supposed to do
this... don't get mad at me if i cross-post incorrectly

hello

I am having the exact same problem. Could not find anyone to help. As i was
searching for an answer i noticed that many people post the same issue yet
little to give a solution. plesae if you find a solution post it back in
here. my file was downloaded using adobe download manager yet cant find it in
the destination folder.

And I'm having the same problem.

All of a sudden when I download files with an .exe extension "Windows"
blocks it and sends it into hell or somewhere for my "protection".

Also, when I try to unzip a file with an exe file in it, it will block that
file but let the rest unzip.

It didn't do this before. It must have been one of the patches that enabled
this...

Please, someone out there must know the answer!

PLEASE help us and post a fix so that we can start using our computers and
downloads normally.

Thanks for any help and info.....
