download dialog box

I have a website that displays a snapshot file in a frame on one of the
pages. My office computer automatically displays the snapshot file correctly
in the frame without any dialog box. My computer at home pulls up the
download dialog box within the frame. The dialog box does not have the
option to "open" the file, only save, more info or cancel. When I save the
file, it is not displayed within the frame. There must be a difference
between the two computers since it works on one and not the other. Please
help.

What exactly is that snapshot file? And/or can you give us the address of
the page or some HTML code?

The website is proprietary and I don't want to post the user name and
password on this site. If you would email me at (e-mail address removed) I will
reply with the name and password. I actually spoke by phone with someone in
Argentina who had the same problem with my site. Apparently, its not just my
computer.

That suggests that the office computer has a filetype association
that your computer at home does not have.
When I save the file, it is not displayed within the frame.

The filetype association on the office computer would cause
the file to be opened by whatever program or ActiveX extension
is used to display the file.
There must be a difference between the two computers
since it works on one and not the other. Please help.

One way of identifying a filetype association is by the file's extension.
When you save the file are you given a particular extension to save
it with?

If so, use Folder Options File Types on your office computer
to find out how that extension is associated there.

Alternatively you can get most of the same information more easily
in a command window using the assoc and ftype commands.

In any case once you have found out what is opening the file
on the office computer you will have a better clue about
whether you need to install/reinstall/repair whatever product/program
is responsible for it.
