I have recently published a web site http://okc-hearingloss.org
on the Yahoo! Small Business server. All went well and the site
seems to operate exactly as intended on computers other than the
one I uploaded and manage this site with.

When I visit the site, using this computer, I get a substantial
downloading delay while the message;

(1 item remaining) Downloading picture
http://visit.geocities.com/visit.gi....1.4322)&s=1024x768&o=Win32&c=32&j=true&v=1.2
shows in the tray at the bottom of the page.

This problem persists on my computer, but to date I have not seen
it on any other computer.

I use MS XP Professional with MS Internet Explorer Version
6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519

I have no other problems with this compuer/browser setup. That
is, all other web sites I visit seem to work as they should.

I've contacted the Yahoo! Small Business Server help people and
they don't seem to know what is causing this problem. They think
it may be a setup flaw that exists on my computer or browser.

Has anyone else ever experienced this or a similar problem?

How can I determine what is causing this problem, and get rid of
it?

I've run McAfee virus scan on all files and folders in this
computer and found no problems.

I've run Ad-Aware SE Professional and found no problems.

What should I try next?

Don't worry, you don't have a virus, spyware, or adware. This is simply a
tracking item for the server host to keep track of your visitors and is
added automatically. The information string that is being passed in the URL
is the name of your web site, plus the information about your browser and
general system. (you can find a reference to this image by looking at the
source code from your browser and peeking all the way down at the bottom of
the page). This is what is normally tracked by the web server so that you
can find out metrics about your site's visitors. It could just be it's
hanging on your computer due to an issue getting to the geocities site or
the dns server that you are connected through is missing the url and is
having to pass the request further up the chain. Sometimes issues such as
this can be fixed by opening up a windows command prompt, and typing
ipconfig /flushdns This will dump the cache windows keeps of dns resolver
entries and force it to get new ones.

Bottom line, don't worry as there's really nothing to be done for it and
it's nothing you have done wrong on your site.
Hope this helps,

Thanks, Mark, I hope you're right on this, and, for the most part
I think you are. Still, I wonder why this red X thing happens
only on my computer that I webmaster this site with, but not on
any other comuter. After a couple of minutes, when it times out I
get the red X. Then, if I right click on the X and select
Properties I see the URL. If I copy/paste this into my browser's
address slot I get about the same result. It won't open any site
or complete any download.

It surely is a nuisance having to sit here twiddling my thumbs
waiting for it to time out. My web site's service provider
doesn't seem to know what is causing this problem.
