downgrade to SP3

We are trying to install Kodak software for their digital
camera in Windows 2000 Pro. It doesn't install. Kodak
tells us that we must downgrade from Service Pack 4 to
Service Pack 3.
We'll very much appreciate a detail description of how to
do that.
Also, if we downgrade, what added vulnerability are we
subject?
After the new software is successfully insatlled, can we
re-install SP 4?
Thanks much for your help.
Jill

Get rid of that kind of software that demands downgrading. That is
ridiculous.
You can only uninstall SP3 if you've archived when installing SP4.
Make sure that you at least have the ms03-039 patch installed.

In addition to the other reply, note that you really don't need the whole
Kodak suite - just the driver to make the connection between camera and
computer. Then you can drag files over from the camera to the hard drive in
Windows Explorer, and use the native Windows imaging software or whichever
s/w you like.

Keheheheh.... :-)

Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately, I'm not very agile
in this techy world so I'm forced to another question: How
do I recognize and extract the driver from the software CD?
Thanks again for help.

Plug in the USB cable and let plug & play detect it. When it asks for a
driver, browse to the CD and see if it can find the appropriate driver
there.
