Mike

I have Vista ultimate 64 bit installed and it is great.
I noticed that I have two versions of M$ internet
explorer installed. 32bit and 64 bit. I did not ask for
that, Vista did it by default. The 64 bit version is
noticeably faster (at least in my judgement anyway).

Can I delete the 32 bit version somehow ?
I know this is no big deal; but maybe by having
two seperate versions, I am wasting alot of disc space.
I know for sure I have two different versions because,
I brought up the help - about screen, and it displays
two seperate versions. This I know for sure.

Please help me to clean things up
Thanks Mike

The 32bit version is there as there are still a number of browser plugins
and ActiveX controls that are not compatible with 64bit IE. The amount of
disk space being used by the 32bit version of IE is not that significant
compare to the overall size of Vista Ultimate 64.

Mike,

The two Versions of IE are there for a specific reason; do not delete the
Default 32-bit.

The Vista IE 64-bit has many uses, from experimenting easily you can
determine the differences.

There is a lot of wisdom for you learning, by trial and error, within Tom
Poterfield's Response.

For inherent security reasons, Vista 64-bit requires less space within the
DVD compared to Vista 32-bit. Too much for expressing and too much for you
learning, in respect to Vista 64-bit, every thing for learning (the
differences) is Online Via Microsoft Sites.

Also, reason why 64-bit Vista is not only more secure but faster compared to
32-bit Vista, currently third party applications as well as third party Sites
occasionally are not *fully* compatible with 64-bit computing reason why
maintaining 32-bit IE is important.
