double sided printing problem

When printing multiple copies of an odd numbered paged
document set to print double sided, the copies seem to be
compacting, as in printing the last page of the document
on one side and the first page of the next copy on the
back. For example, if 3 pages long, pages 1 and 2 on the
first page, then 3 and 1 of the next copy on the second
page. Why is it doing this and how do we fix it. The
printer is a Canon ImageClass 550, using Windows 2000.

You did not specify the application that generated the document to be
printed.

As a general thing, for a quicjk fix, I'd try adding a page to the end (or
front) so that the document has an even number of pages. This may or may not
give fix your problem. Then, I'd look at the application printing options,
and if possible, set the printing to start sections on a new page.
(Application dependent)

It's also possible that the number of copy options (usually in the
application printing options, and also in the printer driver options) need
to set in one or the other, with differing results based upon which is used.

Finally, the printer may have updated or alternate drivers available that
behave differently than the version you currently have installed. Odd
problems have been common with early printer driver versions, and quite
often the "bare bones" drivers supplied on a windows install CD set.

Canon problem - they don't recognize the collation being
set in the application, only in the printer properties.
Turn off collation on the application print screen, enable
it in printer properties.

Use a HP or Lexmark driver and it will work.
