I have just upgraded from ME to XP, and nowhere can I
find how I switch the double sided printing on - HP
tell me I have the latest drivers plus I have SP1
installed, so I am stuck - there doesn't appear to be
anything on the knowledge base either - where do I go -
except back to ME!

Robert ... HP no longer provides updated XP software/drivers with all the features that you're used to for your relatively old printer. WinXP does provide basic drivers which will allow your printer to work but advanced items like double sided printing are no longer available.

I understand that some users have had good luck with 'FinePrint', available at www.fineprint.com for such features.

If you ever get an answer please let me know. I'm so
frustrated I could just throw XP out the window.

Try the free (reduced feature set) download from Fine Print at
http://www.fineprint.com/ . It may enable double-sided printing.
I also upgraded to WinXP (Pro) and lost the double-sided
feature when WinXP provided its own driver for the one that
Brother had provided for Win98. Fortunately, Word XP
has that feature (called Manual Duplex in its Print dialog box),
and with Word I can print double-sided.
