How do you print double-sided from word? I know I've done it before but just
can't remember and can't figure it out!

Hi Tuppy,

I believe it is a function of your printer driver and not
a function of WORD. I have an Epson printer and to print
double-sided I have to do the following steps:

1. File | Print
2. When the print dialog is displayed, then

Properties | Page Layout

I then check the Double-Sided option in the resulting
dialog box. I can also select the "margins" (top or
left).

My printer first prints the odd pages. I then get an
"instruction" box telling me how to flip the pages
already printed (left to right). I then have to re-insert
the "flipped" paper (top down) and resume printing. It
is real easy if you have access to a printer that
has "duplex" print capability, just pick duplex printing
(or something similar). Depending on your printer this
may vary.

If you do not have any "double-sided" options then I
guess you could select all the odd pages to print and then
"flip" the printed pages, re-insert the paper and select
the even numbered pages. For a long document this would
be prohibitive. I am sure someone else on the newsgroup
would have a different, and maybe simpler, method.

File, Print and select Print Odd Pages. When finished, place the printed
pages in the hopper and Print Even pages. Note that you will need to
experiment with this to get page orientation correct when you place it back
into the hopper. You may also have to remove the final odd page is the
document doesn't have an even number of pages. This all depends on your
printer because paper can go in different ways, come out different ways and
reverse themselves in the printer: so practise is necessary.

Hi Terry,

Thank you. I did not even think to look at the drop down
box for printing only odd or even pages. With my old
printer I entered the page numbers, i.e,; 1,3,5,... and
then the even page numbers. I wish I had looked at the
drop down.

Have you looked into the Print What too? There's a surprising selection
under that box that most users miss too.

Terry

Hi Terry,

Thanks. As a friend once said "you don't read the book
until you have to".

Jerry

This is a printer option. Assuming your printer is capable, use file/page
setup and look for duplex printing. Alternatively file/print and click on
properties
