Double search results

When I do a search in Windows XP Pro I get the results twice with identical
file names such as
D:\ Tatars\Correspondence\letter.doc.
 
Do you have two copies of a file in there?

If not make sure you are running Windows Updates, it may be a bug or
something.

I have only one entry. Is it possible to have more than one file with the
same file name? I have all the updates installed.

Sorry for asking this question, but are the FOLDER LOCATIONS exactly the
same for all your double entries, cause sometimes documents will be listed
double but the second listing comes from your Recent Documents folder.
 
They are all from the exactly same folder on the same drive. They are
sometime in addition listed under "Settings and Documents" folder.
 
this is a known issue w/ search. if the file matches several search
criteria it will be listed multiple times. This mostly affects files
located in My Documents and below. If you have a large mp3 collection,
try searching on a word in a song title, like "angel". you'll see that
files show up multiple times because the word was found in the filename,
the title tag, etc.
