Is it possible to install Vista to a secondary drive and have a boot menu
come up asking which OS to load?

Help woould be appreciated.

David

Yes...I have XP Pro and Vista RC1 on one HDD....I could have installed Vista
on an additional HDD if I so chose that option.
After installing Vista, a dual boot menu is auto created...so go ahead and
try this fine RC1 release with out fear!

To this end, how can I increase the duration of that menu's visibility? I
see the choice of "Earlier Version of Windows" and "Microsoft Windows Vista"
for approximately 1 second, so I have to be on the ball to switch back to XP
Pro. Haven't found a good place to increase this time. BIOS perhaps?

Thanks

It's 30 seconds for me, the choice time.....perhaps it's your screen that
turns up only one second before the time runs out...

Have you tried:
Control Panel/System
Advanced system settings
Startup and Recovery {Settings}
and setting the 'Time to display list.......'
to whatever you want?

No, nothing to do with BIOS.

I think the default time is 30 seconds - normally. I have VistaBootPro on my
XP drive and it can change the time.
OR
In the Vista drive:
Control Panel - System - Advanced System Settings - Advanced Tab - Start up
and recovery - settings button - "time to display list of operating systems"
check and adjust to suit - I have mine at 10 seconds. HTH

I have XP on my primary master and installed Vista on my secondary master.
When I boot I do NOT get a boot menu screen giving me a choice of which OS
to load.
Any suggestions?

Installed from legit Vista dvd as the 2nd OS, onto the secondary master hd,
and it boots to XP, with no boot menu. I can change the boot order in the
bios, but would prefer not to have to do that. I installed Vistabootpro from
within Vista and selected Windows Legacy to add an os, named it XP and picked
the hd where it resides. When I boot into Vista, by changing the boot order,
I do get a boot menu BUT when I select the xp option it doen't find it.
Any suggestions?
