Double Images??

Okay, I am an experienced computer user, and I've got to say that I've never
seen anything like this. I just reinstalled XP, and I installed the first of
many updates (I installed the rest of them after this, but this happened on
the first update). Ever since I installed that update, everything on my
desktop is doubled.
What I mean by that is if I create a new file (no matter what kind of file)
on the desktop, it shows that image as normal.... but then when I refresh, a
SECOND icon that matches it exactly shows up on the desktop (typically up by
the Recycle Bin or My Computer icons). If I delete one of the icons, the
other one is still there until I refresh the screen. If I try openning the
file after I've deleted one of them but before I refresh, I get the message
that the file doesn't exist.

It does the same thing whether I move, copy/paste, or create anything on the
desktop that isn't already part of it (namely My Documents, My Computer, and
Recycle Bin).
Anyone ever seen this problem and/or know how to fix it? Please E-mail me or
reply, as this is getting annoying whenever I want to put a note on my
desktop.

Could possibly be a video card or driver problem.
Why did you have to reinstall...
Your original problem may have been hardware related????

Do you have another video card you can try?

Yep, that was exactly it.... I copied a couple files from one user to the
other, and apparently I copied a little too much. I was looking for that help
file everywhere here... not sure why I couldn't find it. LOL! Thanks.

You're welcome. Keep having fun. ;-)
