Yep, that's one way to do it, and I have a rudimentary macro on this
page that can help:

Another way is to put your bubble data into the same XY chart, then use
custom markers instead of bubbles. You can draw circles of the
appropriate size and use them as markers:

To automate this, follow the procedure on Microsoft's site. It's not a
true bubble chart they're making, it's an XY chart with different oval
sizes:

Hello,
I'm trying to overlay 2 different chart types (xy scatter & bubble)
over each other, both charts using the same data range.
how can I do this, or make 1 of the graphs transparent?
