Double emails

Since I got a new computer a couple of weeks ago, people are saying that
every time they get email from me, they get each message twice. Their names
are only in my address book once.

Any ideas what's causing this and what I can do to eliminate the problem?

Try a) sending yourself an email to confirm this problem
b) uninstall your antivirus, reboot, and test again.

Gary,
I sent myself a test and got double emails; then I uninstalled my antivirus
program, rebooted computer and sent another test email. Still got double
emails.

Any other suggestions??

The only other possibility that I can think of is that your email account
is corrupted. Create a new email account with the same settings as
the old one. Delete the old account. Restart WinMail and try it.

Gary, thanks for your help. I finally figured it out. I went into winmail: tools: accounts........somehow it showed my email account twice. I removed one of them, then did the test and everything works right now.

Glad you got it working.
Somehow I always assume that when a problem like yours develops,
the user first inspects the email accounts (Tools, Accounts), but I guess
we can't take anything for granted.
