double click opens fine, but not within word

double clicking opens my file with the font characteristics
such as Bold and size. But if I open from within Word I
only retain spacing but not font
boldness and font size. Opening from within Word also adds
copy that looks
like programming. Here is an example:
Normal
Normal
Default Paragraph Font
Default Paragraph Font
ross V3ross:Desktop Folder: freelance:Business plans:test4ÿ__
Times New Roman

Please help!
