I suddenly have two 1394 Net Adapters listed
in Network Connections and Device Manager. I do not have
a virus or worm on my computer but it has been about 25%
slower since then. I can't get rid of the second
adapter. When I click on Repair from the pull down menu
for either adapter on Network Connection I get the
message:
"TCP/IP is not enabled for this connection. Cannot
proceed."
I seem to be able to connect via my DSL hub but my
computer does seem slower. Please advise.
Thanks

Any chance you actually have two 1394 adapters in your machine? Sometime
people have them and don't know it.

I wouldn't think this would slow down your machine, but if you aren't using
them you can just disable them.

I didn't have the second one listed since I owned the
computer. I did not notice it until I loaded the XP
Service Pack.

I wonder if it was always there but didn't display correctly until the SP.
