dots dashes and lines

Hi,
Screen is partially covered with columns of dots dashes and lines , can
someone tell me how to remove them.

Would you term those columns of dots, dashes and lines as "display
corruption" (messed up painting of the desktop)? If yes, shut down the
computer. Check the connections between monitor and display card. Check
that monitor cable is not crimped. Start up and check display quality.

If problem continues, several things you could try:
-clean pc tower of accumulated dust and debris; check that case fans are
working. If display adapter has a fan, check that it's working as well.
- reinstall the current display drivers or update them
