Hi -
A program like the dotcom toolbar can be downloaded and installed
automatically which then hijacks the search box in internet explorer.
This is achieved by visiting any page containing the code - such as
http://www.findthewebsiteyouneed.com
There is a registry tweak at
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
line 245 (right side) to remove the program - but if a program can so easily
be downloaded and installed automatically, what would happen if a malicious
program was used on such web pages?
Perhaps the "install on demand" or some other setting in IE needs to be
adjusted for greater security?
Yours faithfully,
John Aidiniantz
