A part of our users still work on windows98 and another
part on Windows NT4.0.

We soon get a new server and this new server will be
based on DOT.NET technology.

We have a group of app. 500 users who access the new
server via a normal public internet-provider. They get
access to the server with a username/passwd.

Is it necesarry that all our users upgrade to windows2000
or XP. This will be quit a big problem for us.

Or can they continue using their NT4.0.

Please be so kind to advise.

I found this article that describes the .NET Framework
system requirements for clients in the knowledge base:

Microsoft® Windows® 98 Second Edition

Microsoft® Windows® Millennium Edition

Microsoft® Windows NT® 4.0 Workstation with Service Pack
6.0a or later

Microsoft® Windows NT® 4.0 Server with Service Pack 6.0a
or later

Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional

Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Server

Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Advanced Server

Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition

Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional

Note On all these systems, Microsoft® Internet Explorer
5.01 or later and Microsoft® Windows® Installer 2.0 or
later are also required.

Good luck.
