Go to Start > Accessories > Program Compatibility Wizard. Follow
instructions , insert your cd program . Some dos programs work and some do
not. Jym

Hi John, As you may or may not be aware, DOS isn't the
platform that Windows sits on top of in XP. XP does allow
DOS progs to be run but you have to twiddle a bit first as
DOS is now a program that sits on XP... all this sitting
is making me tired.

Try typing 'DOS XP compatibility mode XP' in your internet
search engine, Google is a good search engine.

It may well be that XP simply won't allow the DOS program
to do it's stuff, ie probing a soundcard etc.

What does the program do? You may try searching for an XP
freeware or shareware version.

John,

Best thing to do is just try it. If it doesn't work on first attempt,
then use "Compatibility Wizard" to run it. If it still doesn't work,
search Google for this particular program and see if advice is available.
