How do I program from a portable floppy to a drive when it says a drive needs
to be formatted and if I format it the stuff already there will be deleted. I
am trying to load a program from the floppy to my computer and I don't know
how to do that. Does anyone know what I need to do? My computer is a Dell
Inspiron B120. Any and all advice considered.
Thanks

If I understand what you are saying, you are trying to install an
application from floppy diskettes onto your computer. It cannot read these
floppies (either because the floppy diskettes are bad - likely - or the
drive itself cannot read them) so it asks if you would like to format them.

What application is this?
Is it made for your operating system and platform?

I think so but I dont' know. It gave 3 options: one was a DOS application but
when I checked it, nothing happened. Is the drive not reading the disk or is
the disk not functioning? It sounds like it's being read but not saved. Is it
possible to save it to a folder. The program is 4MB. Thanks for the feedback.

The program is 4MB.

XP probably cannot read the disk. A standard floppy only holds 1.44 MB.

That explains it. I was hoping to find a way to apply the program but
conceded defeat. Thanks,

Try loading it on an older machine, copy it to CD, then try loading it from
CD to your machine.
