1) Is it possible to format a CD-R/RW disc with the
native XP OS?

2) Is it possible to use a DOS command (COPY) to copy
files from to command prompt to a CD-R disc?

I can't seem to get either working. Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

1. NO

2. YES! But you will need 3rd party "packet writing" software on your
computer. This allows the drive to act just like another hard drive.

No you can not format a cd-r once the disk is writen
that's it you can not rewrite it or format it.On the
issue about write a disk by using Dos I'd have to know
what version of dos is in your system when in dos type in
this propmt ver that will tell you what verison of
dos is in your system.

No to both. The inbuilt software is not a UDF, packet writing approach,
but simply stashes up files on hard disk to later burn an IOS 'session'.
