I understand this is an old game, but I recently bought it, and have
experienced in the upper levels, just after the game loads ie going into
hell, the whole pc crashes and reboots, I'm using xp pro svc pk2 1g Ram
slowest setting on the video card
Ie low resolution. thankfully I save the games progress often.
any solutions??

Hi sgopus,

Your system is most likely restarting as a result of a STOP error.

To stop this behavior go to Control Panel / System / Advanced /
Click the Startup and Recovery Settings button / Uncheck the box
labelled "Automatically restart" under the System Failure section.

To analyze the error, try the steps in: http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

If the error indicates a file name that begins with ati, or nv (nVidia)
the most likely solution would be to install the latest drivers using
the instructions at: http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits/Video.html#drivers

Thanks, I will check on that, I recently had to do a repair install, and
wound up getting new video/sound drivers from the manufactors web sites, so
if it was that , it's now fixed (I hope). so far I haven't had a crash since
the reinstall.
Although quick books won't do a onestep update with my bank anymore, I even
reinstalled quicken 2007 still no joy for updating transactions.
I get the quicken server error, they are working on it? WHO is working on
it??
and why is my info going thru a quicken server anyway, I never approved that!
no way would I want someone else perusing thru my financial info without
approval.

Hi sgopus,

I'm glad to hear that the crashes have stopped.

I would be surprised if Quicken were filtering your transactions through
their servers without your approval, even using high encryption. Please
make certain to follow up on that question with their technical support.
