Don't Want Standby

I have everything set to "Never", have the "Enable Hibernate" box unchecked,
and yet within a couple of minutes after power up, this thing goes into
standby. It will even do it while I'm working on something. I have
uninstalled all updates prior to having this problem with no luck. I have
even checked the set up in the bios. It's REALLY starting to tick me off!

Nope. Checked that. This has only been happening since mid-Jan when I
stupidly downloaded a "fix". I have since uninstalled all the "fixes" and
still have the problem.

Re-instate the fixes and check the power options in Control Panel.. it could
be that your screen is set to go blank..
