Don't want Folders to show

Dan

I have a desktop shortcut which points to a folder. The folder contains
shortcuts to different tutorials. When I double-click on the desktop
shortcut a Windows Explorer window opens showing the tutorial shortcuts as
icons (which I want) and the left side of the window shows a list of folders
on my drive.

I close the folders list which leaves only the icons, which is how I would
like the window to open in the first place. Under options, I have the box
checked for each folder to remember its settings.

Anyone know how to get the window to open without the folder list showing?

Hi Dan,

This is the command needed: explorer /e,/root,
Then the path. This works fine for Windows Explorer/Target.
You would have to implicate/modify/test it otherwise for a Desktop
and/ or a My Computer Folder.

He DOESN'T want the folder pane, so he should use:

explorer /root, c:\...

shouldn't he?

Open Windows Explorer
Tools > Folder Options > File Types
Choose "FOLDER" > Advanced > Select Open and choose "Set Default"

Thank you! Setting 'Open' as the default for 'Folder'
under file types did exactly what I wanted.

Welcome, Dan.
