Hello Reyede,

Thank you for the valuable information.

Required more than eight-years for developing Vista and BitLocker for making
Vista the Worlds most state-of-the-art OS our World has ever known, with near
Stealth Security Protection.

Considering Vista's unique Kernel Patch Protection that makes PCs more
secure by helping protect against potentially malicious software known as
rootkits, which modify the kernel in an attempt to hide from detection is
what prevents malware and other threats causes some not-Certified and
Certified third party applications trouble and problems.

Historically, third party vendors had the ability for modifying Microsoft's
Code Kernels. The secondary result, opening the back door wide, allowing
malware, Trojans, and hackers freely access Microsoft's OS. Hence, the reason
why Vista provides Ultimate Security !!

Here is what we are doing to maintain the integrity and security of 64-bit
Windows, while still addressing the needs of our security partners:

• Contrary to some media reports, Microsoft will not weaken the security of
64-bit Windows by enabling some applications to modify the kernel of the
operating system.

• We have applied our no-exceptions policy against kernel patching to
Microsoft applications as well as third party applications,

No application can bypass or weaken Kernel Patch Protection—this is
essential to improving security and reliability for you. Note that many
third-party security companies provide highly competitive products without
modifying the Windows kernel in unsupported ...

NOTE: The vast amount of the above information comes from Microsoft,
although not the entire article.

Have a wonderful day,

And since when are you with Microsoft. Nice to pretend. Stop and desist from posting as such. If you copy\paste answers then at least give credit to the one(s) that quoted it.

For someone posting via the CDO interface you sure are making yourself out as a complete fool.

Please stop. Nicely asked.

No kidding. What a shill.

Check Avast again. There is discussion in an another ng of a 4.7.938
upgrade already and that it is working OK in Vista x64. Sounds like a fix
already.

Hi, Colin. Long time ....

At least for me, the 4.7.938 upgrade of Avast still wreaks havoc under Vista
Ultimate x64. The October version works fine.

Not sure my system is a perfect test environment as I am still stabilizing
some hardware changes, but ... fwiw.
