I recently purchase OFFICE SMALL BUSINESS EDITION 2003.

In using it, I have found that they have changed the basic help algorithm
in two ways which lower the usefulness of this package:

1. Instead of the old key word lookup, which was essentially instantaneous,
they now use some kind of computed lookup which takes forever.

2. They have changed the organization of help data in a way that makes it
much harder to get the information you need.

For instance, I use Excel a lot. In the old help system, you could type
"text functions" and instantaneously get a page listing all the text
functions in the system. Now if you put in "text functions", you get to
watch a little "I'm busy" bar change colors for 30 or 40 seconds and then
get a display of some, but no all, of the text functions. I tried other
lookups, all with similar responses.

This same help system is used for all the Office programs.

Don't get it; it will really waste your time.

While I agree that Help in 2003 is a drawback, you can speed it up by avoid
the web searches
under tools>options>general>server options>uncheck all in online content

Hi Peo!

From the number of adverse comments it looks like unchecking online content
should be the default with an option to search online content if you can't
find in the Help files.
