Don`t uninstall windows xp?

If you have 2 or more harddisk partitions, sure you can have both Vista and
XP in a machine.

Either do a dual boot or single clean install. An upgrade resulted in a
system that was so unstable I could only get it to boot in safe mode.
That's my experience, but I have a logitech usb camera that evidently has no
drivers and incompatible software. Just my two cents.

How do i make a dual bot?
Is it only to install vista(clean version) on another partition?
And if i upgrade windows xp is my old windows xp still installed or will it
uninstall windows xp and install vista instead?

Thanks for all answers!

No - as long as Vista gets its clean 20 GB NTFS partition.

But you never know what happens later... especially with a Beta, even
if it's a No 2;-)
And what do you mean with no - yes?

No in response to your first half sentence, yes in response to your
second half sentence.

So don't 'upgrade' a running system with a Beta OS:-)

And can i choice what OS i want to start in a menu?

If you correctly install Vista as a tri-boot along with XP and Linux,
all should be well. But it is absolutely essential that the Vista
partition be at least 20 GB, since it won't install in any less.

Vista will create a boot screen which will enable you to boot
whichever OS you want to.

If you don't have a spare 20+GB of free disk space on your HD, or a
secondary or tertiary HD, you will have to cut out 20+GB from your
existing HD partitions. This may or may not entail resizing your
existing partitions. The only way to do this without losing your
existing data will be to use a third-party partitioning tool, such as
Partition Magic, by Symantec, or BootITNG, from
http://www.terrabyteunlimited.com.

While Partition Magic will allow you to demo the program, it will NOT
allow you to save any changes, so if you don't want to pay $89US for
Partition Magic, you will have to opt for a program like BootITNG,
which is very reasonable, at $39US per license.
