Domains and Trust

Chris

Here is my scenario. Our company has 3 separate Domains.

xxx.com 172.169.0.10
yyy.com 173.168.100.100
zzz.Com 100.100.100.1

xxx.com is our main domain.

xxx.com and yyy.com can communicate because of an added
nic and a static IP on that nic pointing to the xxx.com
domain.

I need to get zzz.com to communicate with xxx.com even
with them having different IP's. I hope I didnt just
confuse anyone? Is this done in Domains and Trust?

Chris,

I assume that you mean that you have three different forests?

I would suggest that creating a Trust ( in this case, an Interforest Trust )
will give you the ability to have users in one forest access resources in
another forest. Remember, having a Trust does not give anyone access to
anything - it simply makes it possible. You still need to grant permissions
( or rights, whatever the case might be ).

Does this help you?

And - I might suggest using NETDOM from the Support Tools to create the
trusts. I much prefer this over using the ADDT MMC. BTW - the Support
Tools can be found in three places: on the WIN2000 Server CD in the Support
| Tools folder; on the WIN2000 Service Pack CD in the Support | Tools folder
and on the MS Web Site.

HTH,

Cary

Thanks I will try it
