Hi,

my isp has 'forwarded' my ip address to my registered domainname. I've
added this name as host-header in IIS, but now i still can't access my
webpage. Leaving host-header empty allows me to access my page using
my ip. If i try to ping my website's name, it pings correct.
Is there some sort of security in windows server 2003 where i have to
assign the host header name? Or can i check something else.

Thank you!

Do you have a local DNS server resolving this host header name to the
internal IP of the web server?
My guess is that the host header name resolves to the IP of your router, and
most routers do not support incoming connections to the WAN IP from a LAN
IP, even though you can ping the WAN IP from the LAN.
