my daughter has been trying to network her laptop and pc i
have checked all the settings for the router and all is
fine................then she tells me that her laptop is
set up for use on her domain at work, heance i couldn't
get it to see the pc at home............my question is how
do i get around this? (they can both get to the internet)
TIA Mike

Hello,

Don't rename the domain on the work laptop, otherwise she will need to
contact the work system administrator to be able to login at work again.

You can rename the PC workgroup to the same name as the work domain.
or
Connect to resources on the PC with a user account that exists on the PC
using
<PC workgroup>\User.

Mike,

The easiest thing to do would be to configure your machine in a workgroup
with the same name as her domain (to find this, right click my computer,
properties, network id, properties).

Hi Mike,

be sure you know the local administrator user ID and
password, otherwise it would be a headach after
configuring the notebook to logon locally to workgroup.
