hi i was wondering how do i find out if im in a work
group or a domain?

Right click My Computer, then click Properties and Computer Name.

If you were in a domain, you'd probably know it -- that requires a
network with a server computer running Windows NT/2000/2003 server. A
network with only Windows 95/98/Me/XP computers is always a workgroup.

The easiest way to find out if you are in a workgroup or
on a domain is to check the settings. First you right
click on "My Computer" and you click properties. Then
click the "Computer Name" tab. Mid-way down on the right
side there will be a "change" button. Click this. If
you have Windows XP Pro there should be an option for
Domain or Workgroup. Whichever one is selected
currently, is the answer. If you have Windows XP Home
Edition, you are on a workgroup no matter what. Windows
XP Home Edition won't let you log onto Domains as part of
the typical Windows logon.
