I am not a new user, but I am dumb enough to screw up my
girlfriends pc! I was trying to network her 2000 pro system
with my xp system, and somehow created a Workgroup and a
login for myself. After rebooting, it logs in to the user
account I set up for myself. I can still log her in to her
user account, but she no longer has administrative rights.
How do I go about logging in as an administrator? In the
workgroup I set up, is there an administrator/password,
because hers no longer works in the new Workgroup?

On her local machine, there is not line of demarkation
between her account and your new account... regardless of
which workgroup you have set up under networking. You can
rename workgroups all day long and never touch an
account.
The true question is, do you know which account is the
admin, and do you have the password?
If you do, just start up computer management (i.e. right
click my computer, click manage) then go to local users
and groups. Click her account and make her an admin. Make
a new admin account, name it anything, write it down! You
always need a back door. Set all passwords to never
expire - or else by default the will expire and your peer
to peer network will fail. Remember also, with Windows
2k/XP peer to peer networking, you have to match up all
usernames and passwords on all networked pcs, and set a
common workgroup name, to have shared access.

If you have forgotten the admin password:

I am unable to do anything that requires administrative
access. No logon/user account is available now that had
adminstrative access before.
