Domain will not sync up

We have recently moved to Windows 2002 server with Active
Directory. At some point we lost connection with one of
our server domains at a branch office, because of router
issues and default gateway number being wrong, the branch
has not sync'd up for a couple of months. We have fixed
the gateway issue and router commands but now the server
at the branch will not sync up. We are figuring because
it has been so long between sync-ups. Is there any tricks
to attempt to sync this server back up with the rest of
the domain(s)? We've attempted just about everything we
can find in the knowledgebase.

Have you tried using Server Manager in NT4 to force a replication.

If your server was disconnected from other DC's for more than Thombstone
Lifetime (60 days), then it is not advisable to sync it with domain
controlers. This is the same issue as restoring backup that is older than
Thombstone lifetime (http://support.microsoft.com/?id=216993)
You can use http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];Q288167
to resync DC's. They can't resync, because secure changell betwean DC's if
broken. Best thing to do would be to demote your DC and then repromote it
again to DC.
