Should all users connected to my domain have a dot (.) after their username
(i.e. client14.cgsgw)

Thanks in advance

Danny

I notice when I login as "Administrator" I get the dot (.) and extentsion
and when I login as other user I don't get the dot(.) and extentsion.

still do not understand what you mean...

which login name are you talking about?

samaccountname or UPN?

I get the dot(.) and domain extentsion when logged in as Administrator and
no dot (.) with any other user.

I do not want to irritate you, but I really do not understand what you
mean... what do you mean with the "dot" and domain extension?

What Jorge is trying to ask is are you entering

drobinson (sam account name) in the user name where you have an option
below the name to select a local machine or domain

-or-

(e-mail address removed) (upn)

Unless there is a . after the user name or pre windows 200 user name, I
don't see how the . would allow the user to authenticate.

or are you talking about the profile directory on the file system?

if a user already has logged on with a certain name (e.g. a local user as in
the administrator) and if you log on with the same user name but then from
another domain it adds the domain name to it to differentiate between both
user accounts. Otherwise two different users would use the same profile and
that must not happen.

Is this it?

I'm sorry for confusing everyone ...I am talking about the profile
directory.

I am logged in on the server with Administrator and logged in on another
computer as Administrator.

Sorry for not explaining this better.

Danny
