Domain users unable to logon after Server 2000 DNS change - HELP!

After installing DNS (and SP4)on a 2000 PDC, client
computers are unable to logon. Uninstalling did not help.
What did we do??? Show me you brains - or that I'm a
dumbass. Thanks
 
With respect, please don't make us guess at the problem Frank and do all the
heavy lifting. What's in the Event log? What message are the users
getting? Can you ping the server by name and by IP? More detail would
help. Cheers!

Also, one question: Is the domain a single label name? (Indicative of issues
such as this with SP4).
Or even using ISP's DNS...
