Hi,
I have installed Win 2000 Advanced Server and AD, so
that I can begin to learn about it. I am trying to create
some GPO's for some of the groups that I have created, but
when I right click on the OU and do properties-Group
Policy a Dialog box pops up saying that there is no DC
found for my Domain and gives me 3 choices to retry using
different DCs(none of which work). When I try to go to
Domain Controller Security Policy or Domain Security
Policy it tells me "Failed to open the GPO you may not
have rights" Details, "The network name can't be found".
I am logged on with the original acct that I used from the
time I installed 2000 and I have not changed the acct. I
am on a single machine with no outside connectivity and a
loopback adapter installed, DNS is installed and working,
everything else AD related works fine as well, I can reach
my DC through other AD tools like AD users and computers.
Please help.
Thanks

I searched for the file gpttmpl.inf and couldn't find it.
I have my HD partioned into several partitions, I think
that what I did was when I installed AD I spanned it
across several partitions because my C:\ drive is kind of
small, and then I deleted that partition later, everything
else looks like it works. Is that what I've done? How can
I fix this and get that directory back?
Thanks
