I have a domain mydomain.com W2k server (mixed mode) and I
need to rename it to mynewdomain.com. I already checked
article 296592 and 292541. Should I used NT 4.0 to do
this? Any help will be trully appreciate.
Thanks.

If you wish to retain domain accounts adding an NT4 BDC is the easiest way.

Thanks Kevin.
That means that I have to make a second DC as BDC in NT
4.0 Relase 6 or 6a?
Is there any way to do with W2K servers only and YES I
want to keep domain accounts?

Thank you very much for your promptly relply.

Thanks Steve for your promply response.
I am not considering to migrate to 2003 yet. This specific
situation involves only W2K servers and want to retain all
accounts. About backup of course I already have a ghosted
drive just in case!!
Do you have any other way no matter how hard it is??

Thanks again Steve Your help is very trully apreciatte.

It has to be SP6a

You cannot rename a domain with Win2k, no way to do it to my knowledge.
I don't know of any third party utilities to a domain rename.
