Hello all,
Could you please read this detail about my domain problem?!

Last month I upgraded my NT4 Domain to W2k Domain.
My master server's name was "ntserver" and the old domain
name
was "explore",after upgrade I change the domain name
to "oil.com".
I install AD on "ntserver" and DNS server by "oil.com"
zone name.
I didn't install WINS and DHCP server. So "ntserver" is PDC
emoulator
and GC too. It's IP address is 192.168.54.10,when It was NT
server
there was an EXchange server 5.5 on it that I didn't
upgrade it yet.

After that I upgraded the BDC("ntserverbdc") to W2k as
additional DC and add a new
additional DC(intserver-1) to domain too ,but still the
domain is in mixed mode.
I set in tcp/ip -DNS address for these DC and for all of
clients the address of
"ntserver" 192.168.54.10 .
We connect to internal by a lease line and a DSL modem
with address 192.168.54.1
and set this address as the Default gateway address for
all computers.
Then set an invalid IP address in proxy address of IE that
our ISP gave us 192.168.20.3
port 8080 for all clients.

All of clients are w2k pro and their IP address are in
range of 192.168.54.xxx with
subnet mask 255.255.255.0(there is only one subnet in our
domain).
In this one month I have so much event error like 8003(it
can't find
master browser and thinks some computers are it's master
browser) then I can't ping
the IP address of these computers (you supose their name
are computer-1 and computer-2)
from any where in network.
In "ntserver" when I go to networkplaces->entire network-
computer-1 or computer-2
it says "The network path was not found"
In network palces of both of these computers when I click
the domain it says
"explore is not accessible" .
For every computer when I want to map network drive I must
type \\ntserver.explore\.....
if I type \\ntserver\.... it doesn't find it.
When I go to network places of every computer even
from "ntserver"
I see "exlore" instead of "oil.com" .When I want to set
outlook2000 for clients
for using exchange email service I must
type "ntserver.explore" for the name of exchange server.

By the way from any client when I run nslookup command it
says "unknown server name" but it shows the correct IP
address of DNS server.

In ntserverbdc every 15 minutes there is an error 8032 and
warning 8022 about master
browser again.
I have a small business network but I am alone and I must
answer to 200 users.
You see my problem is really serious.Could you please help
me.I appritiate of every sugestion
and idea and solution.Thank in advance.

Best regards

Browsing is not working (when you traverse My Network Places you're using
the Computer Browser service) and it sounds like you've got serious dns
problems. Active Directory requires dns to be working correctly.

Check to see if you've got a disjointed namespace on your DCs. Right-click
My Computer, choose Properties and go to the Network Identification tab.
Your full computer name should be ntserver.oil.com and your domain name is
oil.com. If this is not the case then your machine name is disjointed
(doesn't match the domain suffix).

If you do, follow the steps in the following article to fix this:

Hi,
DC ANd DNS work properly because I run dcdiag /v and
netdiag /v and every thing was correct but my master DC
computer name after upgrade was changed
to "ntserver.explore" that "ntserver" was the PDC computer
name and "explore" was the domain name(before upgrade).
I master DC when I do to my computer->network
Identification my computer name is "ntserver.explore" and
domain name is "oil.com".Every where "ntserver" changed
to "ntserver.explore".Now is it possible to change it to
"ntserver" ?and if I change it are there any side effects?
So much thank.
Regards
