Domain not available

New laptop out of box, I join it to the domain, I get the welcome to the
(Name) domain, you must reboot this computer, I reboot, type in user name-
password and the select the domain - errs out that the domain is not
available, will let me login to the local computer with an admin user and
password.

I have seen this once before and a total restore corrected the issue, but
there has to be a reason and an easier fix than a restore.

Any help greatly appreciated.

yes, I can ping the DC, I first thought it was a dns issue and did a
flushdns, several reboots, unjoined - rejoin the domain -nothing works. I
thought it might be a corrupted profile - but the thing that puzzles me is
that it joins the domain - but on reboot says the domain is not availalbe,
same user profile can be signed in on any other computer.

As I said I restored the previous laptop and it went on just fine, but now a
second one.....I simply do not have time to continually restore these for
this problem I have 30.

I hope for something simple to fix, but if not then an f11 is in store for
me monday morning!

First thoughts: maybe a firewall issue or networking problem? Can you
ping the domain controller?

Can you ping the domain controller by FQDN? Is DNS set up to use only a
domain DNS controller for DNS resolution?
