Hi
I just setup my win2k dc with ad and dns. My domain
name "eldiariolaprensa.com" has a dns record that point to
the ip (89.9.200.8) address of the dns server and when try
to browse my web server (89.9.200.12) using
eldiariolaprensa.com the browser does not find the page
becuase is pointing to my dns server.

Second problem:
On the dns forwarder option I put my dns isp ip. I am
able to resolve name as yahoo.com, but I can not browse my
web server from inside. When I ping
www.eldiariariolaprensa.com I got " destination net
unreachable" error message.

Any help please on both cases...

This is kind of trick in an AD Domain if eldiariolaprensa.com is the name of
the AD domain. It requires a blank host to resolve by domain name only,
Domain Controllers create blank hosts for each IP on them, this record is
required for domain policies to be applied because these policies in your
case are found at
\\eldiariolaprensa.com\sysvol\eldiariolaprensa.com\policies\
to resolve this so you can access your website by eldiariolaprensa.com you
need to install IIS on all DCs and configure a website for
eldiariolaprensa.com then redirect that site to www.eldiariolaprensa.com.

If you just add a blank host with you website IP it would get very
inconsistent resolution and polcies would also be inconsistent. You can stop
the creation of the blank hosts but the policies would not work at all
because eldiariolaprensa.com would not resolve to a domain controller.

Name: www.eldiariolaprensa.com
Address: 66.162.181.134
In the eldiariolaprensa.com forward lookup zone create a new host, name it
www and give it the above IP address.

Well, change the record to point to the IP of the web server. :)

You likely need a DNS record for your web server with the internal IP
since your firewall isn't letting you back in (or your NAT). Google
"split brain dns" for how to set this up.

I hate to butt in here, but just changing the records IP won't do any good,
the DC will just update it with its own IP address. He can delete it it will
come back, he can stop the registration of the blank record, which will
break GPOs because the domain SYSVOL share is only on the DCs.
That is why I recommend using IIS to redirect if he feels just has to access
his web site by its domain name.
