Install Windows 2000 server to joined an existing domain
server (NT 4.0). Would like to replace the existing
Windows NT 4.0 domain server with this newly installed
Windows 2000 server. Is there a way to do it ? Data
stored in the WIndows 2000 server will be deleted ?

If you want it to be part of the same domain, if I understand your post and
intentions, then I would suggest to upgrade the NT4 PDC to W2k DC. This way
it's part of that same domain.

Otherwise, you cannot promote a W2k server to AD and be part of an existing
NT4 domain (the one it was joined to), whether it's joined or not. If there
is already an AD domain in existence, then you can promote it to an
additional domain controller in the AD domain, but not NT4. NT4 would need
to upgraded to a W2k DC. You also install it in it's own new forest/domain
and migrate the accounts from the NT4 domain to the new AD domain.
